magical money
Just when I was getting nervous about not having sent invoices in a while, and wondering how we were going to finance several necessary business purchases and the sparkly new health insurance plan we got in March, I got another choral gig in the pipeline. It’s been very quiet on the choral front this year. I had one gig in the fall, and then nothing until now. I’ll be singing the Beethoven Missa Solemnis with the New York Philharmonic in June. The pay is better than the last time, both the hourly rehearsal fee and the performance fee, and there are four performances instead of just one. I’ll get my check just in time for our planned departure for a month in the pastoral family house situated on an apple orchard in Maine. Providence or dumb luck? Whatever it is, I’ll take it.
Providence, dumb luck or—talent. You put yourself out in the singing world, the New York Philharmonic found you, and voila.
Just keep letting the world know you are available. Southern Maryland certainly loves you!
