New Islands Archipelago

May 18, 2010

It’s opening week for the Talking Band’s new show, NEW ISLANDS ARCHIPELAGO at 3LD Art & Technology Center. The show takes place on a cruise, and the audience is ushered in as fellow passengers on the trip. The theater is made to look like you’re on a boat – all four walls have been painted steel grey!

We have a lot of fun lobby activities planned, including an art gallery, darts, shuffleboard and mini-golf. Hopefully we’ll even have umbrella drinks. I am most looking forward to the music. Ellen Maddow writes wonderfully quirky, funny songs, and they are really highlighted here.

The cast is a hilarious mix of fantastic downtown theatre regulars. Steven Rattazzi as the captain, Todd D’Amour as one of the crew, and Tina Shepard, Ellen Maddow, Bianca Leigh, Kristina Haruna Lee, and James Himelsbach as the passengers.

Should be fun. Shows start Thursday. Get your tix today!

Loved seeing you in the video ad! For a minute I thought maybe you would be in the show.
    Love to the pups.

I sent Darien three messages today. 1. which day should we reserve tickets for Arch.
    2. Alumni weekend is June 11-13. Botsman suggested that Darien come and meet with the new pres. We’ll be back on the 12th.
    3. Tom Botsman is nibbling and wants to hear more of Darien’s ideas.

Not pushing. Just thinking you all would do a great job of marketing the college!
