Cletus won’t care.

October 24, 2011

We were going to take belly pics this weekend, but we learned about babywearing and madeĀ pain au chocolatinstead.

I had the worst posterior pelvic pain on Friday. It might have been sciatica, but I hear that’s often confused with pelvic pain. It hurt to walk, stand, and sit. It felt better after a good night’s sleep, but I was really worried I would have to endure several months of pain. I’m hoping that was Cletus turning his big head down and settling into my pelvis. I have been feeling less movement really low, and more farther up near my belly button, so I hope he’s considering staying head-down.

Saturday, we took a babywearing class at Metro Minis. I thought it was going to be an hour because it was only $5, but it turned into a three-hour seminar. We learned so much about safety and the different style, and it was really helpful to be able to try on the different carriers. We decided on a ring sling and a woven wrap, though I could definitely use a lot of practice. I’m excited about carrying around our baby all snuggly and hands-free.

We also spent some serious time working on our registry, deciding what we actually do need. I know Cletus won’t care, but I just can’t put the baby in a drawer and call it a bed. So, I feel much better prepared, even though we don’t yet actually have any of the stuff that we decided we will need. And, I keep reminding myself that Cletus won’t care whether or not we have a changing table or a hooded bath towel. Cletus won’t care as long as there is food, warmth, and love. Cletus won’t care.
